Financial Planning Assistant

Department:  Individual & Financial Solutions

Reports to: Vice President, Account Management

Status:  Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Prepare proposals for clients and prospects.  Manage securities client base by corresponding with clients to gather information, preparing submission of new accounts, and establishing accounts in the client management system along with our financial planning tools.  Emphasize new revenue generating business through mining our existing clients and promoting new marketing campaigns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Gather forms, prospectus and client data necessary to build proposals and illustrations for presentation. 
2. Initiate and follow up with clients and carriers to process or resolve problems, answer questions and gather pertinent data for underwriting/processing of financial products. 
3. Process investment/securities via broker-dealer and ensure compliance with all regulations (file application, record transaction and complete required reporting).
4. Develop financial plans and models, create client recommendations based on the results of those analyses and execute the set up of new financial solutions as necessary.
5. Monitor and follow up on all new accounts and policies in process. 
6. Update company databases and reports with all status and resolution information for groups and maintain appropriate group files (both electronic and paper based).
7. Provide summary reports as necessary for producers and management.
8. Develop and maintain positive customer relations and coordinate with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion.
9. Maintain proper securities files that comply with requirements set by FINRA and our broker dealer.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

1.     Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field (preferred) or High School Degree and/or 1+ years experience in the insurance industry. 

2.     Skill in preparing business documents such as proposals, illustrations and presentations using standard financial planning formatting.   

3.     Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

4.     Superior organization skills.  Demonstrated ability to structure tasks, plan and set priorities to achieve work objectives. 

5.     Excellent computer and keyboarding skills including proficiency in the MS Office suite of products and database management.

6.     Must possess strong ability to multitask, as well as, show attention to detail and accuracy to research, analyze and resolve issues.

7.     Must be results oriented, be able to work with minimal supervision and should have the ability to plan and prioritize work. 

8.     Willingness to grow professionally into a revenue generating role.  Therefore, involvement in the community, professional organizations and acquiring of certain licenses and credentials is imperative.
